I had been turning down words from many of my friends to join facebook...my simple question was "Why is it required to me?"...I had not even opened the site till last month...reason being quite simple...I didn't see any purpose...
One day in last month, I was so jobless in office, that I decided to open my own account, after heavy leg pulling by my bro. I created an account and it went straight to a page, where it asked me to enter gmail Id and password, and it listed so many of my friends...I thought "okay..". It had reduced much of my work to add friends...
Next was filling my profile info. Usually I don't write much about myself anywhere...so left major portion untouched...Finally my account was up and running. First time I didn't even know where and how to comment. Slowly started learning and was quite surprised to see some of my unexpected relations there :) felt, I had missed the wagon earlier and some enjoyment too...
Things were going fine and yesterday after I reached home early, and finished cooking, thought will update profile info...and WOW...it was totally a new experience and I understood what a killer app is...
As and when I started typing something, I could see the list of options, so dynamically - cloud computing uh? but was really good and that too when I typed some old film name, even thumbnails started coming...never I expected typing "Thiruvi" will give me a thumbnail with Shivaji Ganesan and showing "Thiruvulaiyadal"...I understood the power of this elegant tool and why all mobile vendors run behind integrating this in their products...
Felt it has its feet so much stamped down, that it will take quite sometime for some other person to overtake it. Being in a mobile company which has dominated the world for almost two decades, I would like one emerging from my work place too...
